Chidambaram Mela Madam – Kanchi Mahaperiyava – Agora Sivachariya

Due to the unwavering devotion the Kanchi Swamis had towards , a friend of ours, told us that he succeeded his every career and is now abroad happily . We had posted about a wonderful monastery near the house where he lived. All the readers have asked us, about what monastery it is, and what its history is. They asked us if the madam had anything to do with Kanchi Swamis. This is the record for that. Chidambaram is the temple for space of the Panchabhuta. If the any saivites refer temple, it will refer only to Chidambaram.

The closest monastery to the temple is the Agora Sivachariya Monastery, also known as the Chidambaram Mela Math.
What is special about this monastery?.

The most popular sage for anger we all know is sage Durvasa.
The sage once came from Kailash to our world.
Kanchi Maha Swamis tells wonderful things in this place.

The sage and the Rishis used to come to our earth from wherever.
If so, they will come to India.
Especially to South India. The reason is that they have special features like Murthy, Theertham,Thalam.
Periyavaa always says in exclaimed tone that our bharath is the earth of wisdom.(gnana Boomi)

Durvasa Sage came from Kailash to this world.

Went to many shrines here.took Holy bath. He had holy dharsan of temples.
He came to Chidambaram one night.
He was very hungry then.
He has been voiced three times by “Pixham Tegi”.
But there is no one to hear his voice.
He looked around and saw no one near.
But his voice fell to the ears of Narthana Ganapathi, nearby .
Immediately, Goddess Sivakami made an offering to the sage Durvasa, in the form of anthropomorphic woman.
Durvasa Sage was very happy.
Durvasa rishi first did not felt the women is nothing but Goddess parasakthi.

After a little time,Realizing, he bowed to her three times.

Sivakami disappeared, saying that he should stay here for a long time.

Durvasa then set up a monastery to pay homage to the devotees who come here, to offer Siva Deeksha, to charity to Lord Shiva, to worship the daily pooja and to the worldly good.

This monastery is named after his name.
From here, he worshiped Lord Nataraja for some time.
The sage Durvasa returned to Kailash by appointing his disciple Akora Sivacharya to perform his service here continuously.
Since then, the Akora Shivacharya dynasty has been worshiping the deities here and the sage Durvasa.

The monastery is also called the “Agora Shivacharya Math” under the control of “HRCE”.
Kumbabi Shagam was held in 2016.
As I already said, our friend’s family looking after .
yet they have a devotion to the Kanchi Paramacharya.

Are the Kanchi Swamis visited here?
Sriman Sampasivam sivachariar went to Kanchi monastery in 1959. Perivaa expressed his delight at thoroughly investigating the activities of the monastery.
He Blessed Sri sambasivam who was Chittappa of our friend, to perform the pooja.
He also did him Maha manthira Upadesa. Shriman Sampasivam alias agora Sivacharya was a Brahmacharya , performed this puja with great devotion, sincerely,as i personally know,until he attained the feet of Lord .

He would only take f prasadam twice a day.
I have seen him prepare the pooja without even swallowing saliva on his stomach in the morning.
If something is not cleansed in between, he will again take a bath and perform the pooja.
He always remembered Periyavaa as his sadguru ,who blessed Him “Maha Manthira”.

Secondly, the legends say that Sankaramadam and Durvasa sage had a mythical connection.
Durvasa Mahamuni was the first of the monastery before Adi Shankara.
This is also the reason why the Kanchi Swamis have a fondness for the monastery.
